Activism

In Activism one can use vigorous campaigning to bring about political or social change. If you have a desire to make improvements in society, then this is the perfect area of service for you. There are many difference types of activism: environmental activism, Internet activism, political activism, or social activism.

Each area has its own qualities and fields that it affects. The beauty about activism is that it is a very diverse field of service where one can apply their ownpassion and interests into their desires to bring about change.

Activism has been a huge part of our world from the beginning of society until today. Even before activism was named as an area of service, people have been using it to express their frustrations and and emotions towards their societies. Some famous activists: Martin Luther King Jr., Malala Yousafzai, Rosa Parks, Mahatma Gandhi, and many more, have  made their mark in history by actively fighting for their beliefs. They have fought for rights, for privilege, for equality, for peace. They have put their lives on the line to change the world. And in the end, that’s exactly what they did.

Nevertheless, to be an activist, you don’t have to change the world or start a revolution. By simply picking one service group and actively fighting for what they believe in, you can change their world. And in community service, every one step, no matter how small, can be the beginning to a bigger revolution.

So become an activist today and join one of the community services groups listed under this parent page!
