Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center is a non-profit organization providing a high quality program of therapeutic horseback riding and related activities to disabled children. The instructors, therapists and other volunteers continually work to improve their levels of knowledge and performance so they can provide a stimulating environment to enrich the lives of the students. Volunteers 1)work with students and horses in the day to day program 2) care for the horses 3) manage and run fundraisers and 4)landscape and repair the facility. Program operates May through November on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 6:00 and on Saturday from 9: http://whitekittyfoundation.org/age for volunteers is 14.
Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center is located in a beautiful rural setting in Orinda, CA, twenty miles from San Francisco. With their professional staff and a cadre of volunteers, they offer life-changing experiences for children with a wide range of disabilities. Through equine-assisted activities provided in a safe and secure environment, their children achieve goals that they never before dreamed possible. With a horse as their guide, there is no limit to what they can achieve.
Xenophon is a non-profit 501(c)3 registered charity, offering both Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy. In Therapeutic Riding, basic horsemanship skills are integrated into therapy goals tailored to each individual’s specific needs. Their licensed physical therapist and occupational therapist on staff facilitate the goals designed in our hippotherapy sessions.
